Kimpur has obtained ReMade certification for products developed for the sandwich panel industry. The certification covers three polyester polyols and two rigid polyurethane foam systems from Kimpur’s existing product portfolio. The certified products support European sandwich panel manufacturers in meeting the Minimum Environmental Criteria (Criteri Ambientali Minimi – CAM) applicable to relevant projects in Italy.

Having announced the launch of PET-based polyester polyol production at its Düzce facility in 2025, Kimpur has now documented its progress in this field through ReMade certification. During the assessments conducted by the certification body ICMQ, the origin of post-consumer recycled PET inputs, their traceability throughout the supply chain, production records and the calculation methodology based on mass balance principles were examined. As a result, the recycled content percentages of the certified end products were independently verified.

The certified products are available with different recycled content percentages to meet customers’ specific application requirements. Depending on the product, the post-consumer recycled PET-derived content reaches up to 40% by weight. This enables post-consumer PET waste to be returned to the raw material cycle, contributing to resource efficiency and the conversion of waste into value-added products.

Verified Content, Maintained Technical Performance

Offering technical and mechanical properties comparable to their conventional counterparts, the certified products can be used in customers’ existing production lines. This enables sandwich panel manufacturers to meet recycled content expectations while maintaining technical performance and to document the recycled content percentage of the raw materials they use through independent verification. Kimpur has also completed the first commercial shipment of these products to a sandwich panel manufacturer in Europe.

Commenting on the development, Tuncay Halat, Kimpur’s Deputy General Manager of Sales, Marketing and Sustainability, said:

“ReMade® certification independently verifies both the percentage of recycled content used in our products and its traceability throughout the supply chain. This enables us to offer our European customers product options with measurable and documented recycled content. With products that maintain their technical and mechanical performance, we contribute to our customers’ efforts to reduce their environmental impact and support their compliance with the relevant standards. We believe this development will expand our partnerships in the European construction industry and contribute to our goal of increasing our market share across the region.”

In line with its sustainable product management approach, Kimpur continues to incorporate recycled resources into its product development processes and provide polyurethane raw materials with measurable, traceable and independently verified recycled content.

Kimpur’s ReMade® certificate, numbered RE1219, was issued on 15 July 2026 and remains valid until 14 July 2029, subject to the successful completion of the required surveillance audits.
